We provide services for a range of different funding types
Our therapists and intake team are very familiar with all funding-body options and the administrative requirements involved in securing funding for therapy and assistive technology. We take care of the paperwork for you by providing professional reports to, and communicating with funding bodies in a timely manner, as well as keeping you in the loop with anything regarding your funding plan.
To ensure we continue to be compliant and streamlined in our approach, we’re always keeping on top of policy updates released by the various funding bodies we work with.
National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)
The National Disability Insurance Scheme was designed to support the needs of people with a permanent and significant disability. As a registered NDIS provider, we work closely with many clients who receive therapeutic support through their NDIS package. We work with clients under all payment schemes including self managed, portal managed and plan managed plans.
We also actively advocate for clients who are seeking to access an NDIS plan for the first time.

Transport Accident Commission (TAC)
The Transport Accident Commission will provide funding for allied health services for people that have been injured in a road accident. At Steps, many of our clients receive funding through the TAC and we work closely with support coordinators and our client’s therapy team to provide necessary services to assist with recovery. This includes providing regular updates, and undertaking regular outcome measurement so that we can demonstrate progress and justify further funding.

Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA)
We are able to provide services for DVA gold card holders at no out of pocket cost to the veteran. DVA services are only offered as in-room consultations.
My Aged Care
My Aged Care funding is available to assist older Australians to access therapy and other services. There are various home care packages that you may be eligible for. We work with your home care providers to provide the necessary paperwork prior to you commencing services, and will work closely with your case managers regarding approved services and therapy recommendations.

Multiple Sclerosis Australia
The MS Employment Support Services (MS ESS) program can fund therapy support to MS clients who need assistance to manage their symptoms in the workplace and remain at work. We work with your Employment Support Officer and provide therapy progress updates and recommendations for therapy input to assist you to secure the funding you need.

We work with State Trustees if a client has a Guardianship order in place. We seek approval through their portal before any services are provided and update the portal as required.
Chronic Disease Management Plans ( formerly EPC)
We work with clients who have approval from their GPs to claim the Chronic Disease Management Plan rebate from Medicare. These can be processed on site from our Hughesdale rooms, where our therapists sign a Team Care Arrangement form agreeing to be a contributing provider for the Team Care Arrangement of a client.
The Chronic Disease Management Plan entitles you to up to 5 sessions per year with an allied health professional – Physiotherapist; Occupational Therapist; or Exercise Physiologist.
If you have a Chronic Disease Management plan from your GP this will subside your therapy by $55.10 per session — the session is not fully funded and there will be a gap payment.
Please note if you also have health insurance you can only claim one or the other per session.
Private Health Insurance
We work with all Health Insurance providers and can process HiCaps claims from consultations at our Hughesdale rooms. Alternatively, you can choose to claim a rebate directly with your health insurance extras provider. Clients do need to check directly with their private health insurance company to understand their individual rebate amount, as each insurance company, and level of cover, provides different rebates.
