Kayla Casilang
Neurological Physiotherapist BPhty | APAM
From a young age, Kayla was fascinated by the incredible resilience of the human body and its capacity to heal and adapt. Her journey into physiotherapy was deeply influenced by her grandfather, who has cerebral palsy and has always spoken highly of his physiotherapists. Growing up, Kayla heard countless stories about how they positively impacted his life, helping him maintain his independence and continue enjoying activities he loved— riding his bike, going swimming, or “grooving it” on the dance floor. His experiences inspired her profoundly and Kayla felt a strong calling to pursue this career.
Kayla feels that Building strong and supportive relationships is key to her clinical practice. Her approach is guided by collaboration with her clients and other health professionals involved in their care, and combines evidence-based practice with creativity and a touch of fun, to make therapy both effective and enjoyable. Physiotherapy is not just a profession for Kayla; it’s a passion to empower people to live their lives to the fullest.
Of working at Steps, Kayla says: “I thoroughly enjoy the positive and supportive atmosphere at Steps and the opportunity to work within a team of dedicated professionals who share a commitment to providing high-quality care is truly inspiring”.
