Hannah Sutton
Neurological Occupational Therapist BSc(OT)(Hons) | OTAM
Hannah was first introduced to working with people with Neurological Diagnoses at the National Hospital for Neurology, Queens Square in London – her clinical passion flared immediately and she hasn’t looked back. She is particularly interested in brain injury rehabilitation, and has completed additional training in the Bobath Concept, and cognitive rehabilitation.
Hannah’s approach to clinical practice involves client centered interventions that are both well understood by the client, and genuinely meaningful. She places importance on being goal focused early in the piece, and keeping assessment and therapy strongly linked to everyday functional tasks.
At Steps, Hannah values how welcoming and friendly the people and spaces are, and enjoys the diverse group of people on her client list.
Regarding Neurological OT, Hannah is on a mission to help people understand that there are so many different elements that OT’s consider when it comes to the client (UL, postural management, seating, cognition, function based assessment, equipment, community and home set up – to name a few!). Because of this, OTs are able to help people live a better life in so many ways. She says: “We help people achieve specific and meaningful goals that they often felt were not possible at the start of their injury/diagnosis.”
